Guided Reading Level K
Level K includes a variety of texts. Some books contain long stretches of easy text so that children strengthen their ability to read longer selections. These easy chapterlike books usually have pictures on every page or every other page. The amount of text on a page varies, some pages having text only and others having text and pictures. Print is laid out with clear spaces between words and lines. Illustrations support and extend the text and enhance interpretation. The stories have multiple episodes related to a single plot.
